When Moses Dyson, the sixth child, was born in March 1862, his father Isaac, was 38 and his mother Elizabeth, was 32. He married Ella Coleman and they had three children together before her death.  Moses later married Georgie Ann Jackson, daughter of Alexander "Sandy" and Ann Ruffin Jackson, and had eight children together.  Georgie Ann's  name was spelled differently in several documents, e.g., Georgeann, Georgana, Georgia and Georgie A., but family and friends knew her best as Sissy.

Moses died July 15, 1926 of paralysis at about 67 years of age in Ward 2 of Washington Parish, Louisiana.  He was buried later that day at Silver Creek, aka Union Chapel AME Cemetery, in Kentwood, Louisiana, by undertaker Nick Smith. L.L. Brumfield, the informant on the death certificate, stated that Moses, a native of Washington Parish, was farming for Ed Alford.  His parents were listed as Isaac Dyson and Bettie Cyprand.

The widow, Georgie Ann Dyson, died in Ward 4 of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana on January 27, 1932 at the age of 54. Cause of death was listed as aortic incompetency resulting from diphtheria.  Her brother, Sam Jackson of Wilmer, Louisiana, was the informant.  Georgie Ann was buried at Dyson Cemetery aka Union Chapel AME Church in Kentwood, Louisiana, the next day.  N.A. James of Hammond, Louisiana, was the undertaker.

Moses, Georgie Ann and their children were listed in the 1900, 1910, and 1920 census records. Georgie Ann was listed with her son Roy in the 1930 Census. Moses' descendants include 11 children, 42 grandchildren...some of which are pictured.
